Chinoise was popular in the 18th century in England and France as the Europeans got infatuated with the far east. 'Architectual Digest' Home Design Show 2007. This is a photo of a show for architectural home design. New York pier in 1997. We drove from california with all of precious antiques and brought the best of the best to show New York what we are capable of. This is a prime example of mixing antiques with modern comfort. Note the couch was a 1950’s-60’s couch. We re stuffed it with down and tea stain linen thus the neutral giving the eye areas to wander not fighting with fancy fabrics that fight with the beauty of the art. The lamps are not often seen gold. The Morano lamps are from the 1960’s and we put beautiful black linen shades with gold plating on the inside which radiates lights downward. Please note they have a cover on the top so light cannot go up. The pair of end tables are from the 1960’s. The cabinets are Hollywood regency from the 1940’s Grosfeld House, which was a noted designer that manufactured furniture in NYC in the 40’s whos pieces have been in all of the Hollywood glamour and worldwide.
